Portrait of Ray Marett
The short version

Creative thinking.
Commercial judgement.

I started in media, learned how audiences are reached and went on to build the creative work they see when we get there.

That combination still shapes how I work. I can develop the idea, write and produce the advertising, then plan where it should appear and how the budget should be used. It keeps creative and media connected—and gives clients experienced attention without layers of account handling.

My work spans television, long-form and short-form video, YouTube, radio, outdoor, print and digital. I have worked with national brands, local government, public services and independent businesses, often becoming a practical extension of the client team.

AdIQ is deliberately independent. When a channel is wrong for the brief, I will say so. When a plan can be made more effective, I will challenge it. The objective is never to spend the budget. It is to make the budget work.

Years in advertising

Experience across creative development, production, media strategy, planning and buying.

01

Senior point of contact

The same person stays close to the work—from the original problem through to delivery.

All

Useful channels

The answer might be TV, YouTube, radio, outdoor, print or an integrated campaign. The outcome comes first.

How I work

Less theatre.
More useful thinking.

01

Start with the change

Before choosing a channel or writing a line, define what the audience needs to think, feel or do differently.

02

Join up creative and media

Where an advert appears changes what it needs to say. Planning and production work better when they are considered together.

03

Protect the budget

Experience is knowing what not to buy. I would rather rule out an unsuitable channel than force a client’s money into it.

04

Work as one team

The best campaigns happen without an agency/client divide: honest conversations, shared responsibility and good people solving the same problem.

Why AdIQ
“New tools expand what we can make. They do not replace the thinking behind it.
