Ramon Marett

Founder & Creative Director, Advertising IQ

Nearly 30 years in television, film and advertising

Ray Marett is a UK-based creative director and TV advertising specialist with almost three decades of experience in broadcast production, commercial storytelling and media strategy.

His career began in theatre, working as a scenic artist on major West End productions, including Cameron Mackintosh’s Oliver!  where his artwork appeared on stage in London. That early grounding in large-scale visual storytelling shaped the attention to craft and atmosphere that still defines his work today.

Broadcast experience with global brands

Before founding Advertising IQ in 2018, Ray worked across national television campaigns, brand film and commercial production for global clients including BP and Reckitt (Air Wick), and edited product launch content for brands such as SanDisk, Neff and Siemens.

He has planned and bought both regional and national TV advertising campaigns across the UK, including airtime on ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, UKTV, Sky and children’s networks; giving him a rare blend of creative direction and hands-on media buying expertise.

That combination of creative and commercial understanding now underpins every campaign produced through Advertising IQ.

Founder of a results-driven TV advertising agency

Advertising IQ was founded to bring high-end broadcast thinking to ambitious organisations — particularly local authorities, public sector teams and purpose-led brands.

The agency specialises in:

Ray’s work for Fostering in Somerset was Highly Commended Campaign of the Year at the LGC Awards, a national recognition within the UK local government sector.

But the real measure of success is outcomes.

His campaigns have helped councils recruit foster carers, reduce reliance on agency placements, increase engagement with public services and delivered measurable digital performance alongside TV activity.

Writer & Creator

Beyond advertising, Ray is also a published author.

He wrote an official tie-in novella for the globally successful video game Elite Dangerous, expanding the game’s universe in licensed fiction. He also co-wrote the sci-fi novel The Star Protocol with his brother, an original space opera exploring alien intervention and human destiny.

These long-form storytelling projects feed directly back into his commercial work.
Because at its core, advertising is storytelling under pressure.

Ray is also the creator of Marshal Bug, a family-friendly Western comic set in the underground town of Undergrowth. A long-term creative project currently in development. It sits firmly on his “must finish before I die” list.

Advertising IQ is a creative advertising agency delivering strategic, high-quality campaigns across TV, video, animation and digital media.
